SAM February 2011 Challenge

This is my first challenge as a member of the Stamp A Memory Design Team. For this challenge, we needed to include the colour red on our layout and this is what I have created:

 

This was a really easy layout to create - all the  paper and cardstock that I used was left over from one project or another - I didn't have to cut anything!!  The strips of Early Espresso were cut-offs from a previous giftbox that I had made, and the DSP from the Jolly Holiday range was left over after making my Christmas cards. The flower was left over from a bunch of flowers I cut out from the launch of the Summer Mini Catalogue. They have been made using the Island Floral Bigz Die and the Fancy Flower Extra large punch. All the punched petals were then run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

I have used images from the "Extreme Elements" and "Pendant Park" stamp sets to create an interesting background effect.

Birthday Wishes

This is a card I created for a Colour Challenge on ESAD. We were only to use Pretty In Pink, So Safforn, Certainly Celery and Crumb Cake and NO OTHER COLOURS!!!! It was hard, but this is what I came up with:

I have used Crumb Cake cardstock as my base and layered it with Pretty in Pink & So Saffron. The Pretty In Pink layer has been run through my Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder that had been swiped with Crumb Cake ink. This layer was then distressed and stitched to the So Saffron layer.

The Saffron butterfly has been hand cut using a chipboard butterfly as a template and then embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder as well. You can just see the chipboard butterfly behind.

The sentiment used is from 'Occasional Quotes' which is a Hostess set. Diamantes have been used to embellish the butterfly and the tag.

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #33

I've combined Keesh's sketch challenge this week with a colour challenge from UStamp. This is the sketch we had to work with:

and these are the colours from Ustamp we had to work with:

and this is what I came up with:

I've changed the sketch a teensy bit and used a circle instead of an oval on my card. The stamp set is  the 'Bloom Away" set. It's the first time I have used this set as it has only just arrived into my hot little hands!! It features three different Australian wildflower blooms.

Ustamp Challenges

Well I have been having a bit of a play with  the Ustamp challenges on this round of UStamp. The first one is an Inspiration challenge. Here is the inspiration:

I have used the Upsy Daisy stamp set AGAIN!!! with the Urban Oasis DSP

Th second challenge was a colour challenge. We had to use Real Red, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive.

Here is what I came up with:

The stamp set is the Something Sweet set. I have used the Sweet Treat Cups and also made my own background paper using stamps from the set. The little tab puills out and the M&M's fall out from behind.

Just Add Ink Challenge #25

This weeks challenge over at Just Add Ink is a colour challenge.  These are the colours to work with:

I'm loving making hand made flower embellishments at the moment and putting them on cards, scrap pages & gift boxes (not that you'd be able to send this card through the post!!

The sentiment is from the 'Friends 24-7'  stamp set and the DSP is the Autumn Traditions out of the new mini catty.

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #30

I haven't done an Inkspirations Colour Challenge for ages but the colours this week were too good too resist. Here are the colours:

 And they just scream to use the Cottage Garden DSP! So here is what I created:

 I finally used the Tote-Ally Tess stamp set. Wanted to give colouring with markers a try. My colouring is not that flash so I ended up paper-piecing instead!

• Rich Razzelberry polka dot ribbon
• Circle Cutter, oval & scallop oval punches, scallop circle die

Top Note Die

I've been having a play with the new Top Note Die that Stampin' Up! has in the latest mini catty. This die is so versatile - I just love it!

Firstly I have created this card:

The inspiration for this card was from a colour challenge on this round of UStamp. The colours to be used were Barely Banana, Melon Mambo and Bashful Blue.

I have used one of my favourites stamp sets - 'Upsy Daisy' and a sentiment  from the 'Sweet Little Sentiments' stamp set. The image has been stamped onto Whisper White cardstock with Versamark ink and I have coloured it with pastels. Isn't the ribbon just gorgeous? It is the new Melon Mambo polkadot ribbon from the new mini catty.

This second project is actually a giftbox with a card on top:

Again I have used the Top Note Die to create this project but this time I have used the Emerging Colour Technique. The images I have used are the Large Medallion stamp and the Vintage Vogue Stamp set. Colours used are Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Really Rust and Baha Breeze. The flower has been made with the large flower punch from Stampin' Up. Unfortunately it is not available in Australia yet. My punch was actually gifted to me by  a lovely and talented lady named Dawn Rapsas from UStamp. I encourage you to visit Dawn's blog and join up with UStamp. You will get to make some fabulous projects and meet some very talented ladies from all over the world!

ESAD-SU Colour Challenge

Leonie from ESAD has set us a colour challenge. We have to create a card based on the following colours:

 
  
Whoever wins the challenge gets to have their artwork displayed on the homepage of our group. How exciting! I have combined mine with a sketch challenge from Mojo Monday:

And this is what I have come up with:

I have used  the 'Wonderful Favourites' stamp set and the Haiku Designer Series paper 'cos it had all the right colours! I have layered and stitched the DSP onto COnfetti White cardstock and adhered this to the Bashful Blue base. The edges of the DSP have been sponged with Old Olive Ink. I have coloured one of the flowers from the Pretties Kit with Pumpkin Pie ink and distressed and curled a flower that has been punched with the flower punch. This has then been layered with another flower from the Pretties kit & joined together with a rhinestone brad, also from the Pretties Kit.

• Red Riding Hood, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Confetti White cardstock
• Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie inkpads
• Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon
• Flower punch, Pretties Kit, Buttons, Scallop Border punch.

Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #1

Just Add Ink is a new challenge blog started up by Stampin' Up! Demonstrators here in Australia and New Zealand. It has only just been launched and their very first challenge is now up. There are prizes to be won so pop on over and have a look.

Their first Challenge is a Colour Challenge using the colours Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Rose Red and Whisper White.

 
 

This is what I have come up with:

You can't really tell from the photo but this is a Tri-Fold Card.  The edges of the So Saffron PP have been inked with So Saffron Ink and the Choc Chip cardstock has been inked with Chocolate Chip Ink.  It gives a little more depth to the card. I hope you like & thanks for looking!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #15

Well it's been a little while since I have participated in one of Keesh's colour challenges so thought I would have a go at this one.  The colours to be used were Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Really Rust and Very Vanilla. As soon as I saw the colours it made me think of the Haiku Designer Paper and that I would finally get to use it! I've used the horse from the 'Wanted" stamp set - I thought it would match nicely with the paper.  I've used a sketch challenge from Mojo Monday as well.
