Lovely As A Tree Is Retiring!

It will be very sad to see this stamp set go! After all these years, Lovely As A Tree is on the retiring list. This is one stamp set that we all thought would be around forever! I know I will never be parting with mine - it is such a versatile set. If you don't already own this set and would like it - you'd better get in quick because this is one set that won't last very long.

I've used the Subtle Embossing folder to create the back layer on this card, first inking the inside of the folder with Crumb Cake ink before placing my cardstock inside.The background on the top layer as made by sponging the edge of a cloud shaped piece of paper with Smoky Slate ink (I die-cut the cloud shape using one of the edge dies from the Rainbow Builder Framelits). The row of trees were stamped twice, first with Soft Suede, then again with Memento Black slightly offsetting it. Lastly I've stamped the single tree with Memento Black ink.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays and was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

Lovely As A Tree Birthday Card

Just thought I'd share with you a birthday card I made for my partner's birthday this week:

 

I haven't used the Lovely As A Tree stamp set for a while so I pulled it out to make this card. It is such a versatile set and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I've masked the centre tree so I could stamp the two outer trees & then I coloured the centre image with markers (not the best job of colouring LOL!!!)

Lovely As A Tree

I think this 'Lovely As A Tree' stamp set would have to be one of my all time favourites!  It is such a versatile set.  For this card I have tried the brayering technique on my background. I'm not entirely happy with it 'cos I'm still not that good at brayering but hey, doesn't matter!

 
  
The papers I've used are the Urban Oasis Designer Series paper. Love the earthy colours of these papers!
