I love playing with sketches - it gives you a great place to start from when your mind is a blank!!. Here is the sketch we had to work with:

I finally got to play with the 'Hello You Thinlets Die' which is in the current Occasions Mini Catalogue. I've used the negative cut-out and saved the word to use on another project sometime. The paper and button  Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and Best Year Ever Accessory pack - both FREE from this year's Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. The pearls on my card have been coloured with Blendabilities.

MOJO Monday Sketch 264

I have not been all that regular in keeping my blog up-to-date of late. Time is a precious commodity that I dont have a lot of at the moment!! But I guess I'm not the only one in that boat! However, I finished a job early today and had a bit of time up my sleeve, so took a breather and thought I would participate in this weeks MOJO Monday challenge.

I wanted to create a masculine card, so I used the gorgeous Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper and matching cardstock. I love these earthy colours!!

SAM July Challenge

 
I can't believe it is July already!! Where is this year going - it is whizzing by sooo fast!!

The Stamp-A-Memory challenge this month was to create a layout based on this sketch from Pagemaps:

 

Using sketches is a great way to jumpstart your mojo, or to give yourself a starting point when you're not sure how you are going to scrap a particular photo/photos.

Here is my version of the sketch:

 

This is a photo of my hometown of York, taken around the 1930's. The fashions may have changed but the buildings are still the same and in use today!

I've stayed pretty faithful to the sketch for this layout, but really a sketch is just a starting point and you can interpret it however you want! Would love to see how you interpet this sketch into your own layout. Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #43

Have been doing a bit of blog surfing today and got inspired by the sketch challenge on Makeesha's blog so thought I would participate in the challenge. This is what I came up with:

 

I was inspired by a colour scheme of Baja Breeze, Black and White that I saw a while back on Teneale Williams blog and really liked.

I have used  a really cute stampset called 'The Nicest Things" out of the 2011 catty and coloured it with a mix of watercolour markers and Copics. My colouring is still not quite there but I am improving!! The DSP I have used is retired now, but you can get the same effect by using the Subtles pattern pack instead (which I don't have yet!!)

 

Card Recipe:

• Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Whisper White cardstock
• The Nicest Things and Just Believe stamp sets
• Baja Breeze DSP (retired)
• Small, large and scallop oval punches, scallop border punch
• Other: Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones, dimensionals

Mojo Monday 157

Isn't this just the cutest little owl you've ever seen??

I've been wanting to try out this new owl punch from SU  since I got him and this week's sketch from Mojo Monday was the perfect opportunity. Here is the sketch we had to work with:

The DSP I have used is retired unfortunately but I love it and wanted to use it - though luckily for me there is some new DSP in the new catty with similar colouring. I've also used the scallop trim border punch and the large two-step bird punch (to create the leaves).

CASE Study Challenge # 2

The quote I have used  is called 'Occasional Quotes' and is a Hostess set from the new 2011 catty. The flowers & pearls are from the Pretties Kit. The flowers have been dyed with Baja Breeze Ink.

MOJO Monday 152

OK, time for another challenge - this time the MOJO Monday challenge!  This is the sketch we had to for inspiration:

I'm really into trying out water colouring at the moment and these line stamps are perfect for it!  My colouring is getting better! I have coloured this with watercolour crayons and an aqua painter. The stamp set is "Echoes Of Kindness" which is a Level 2 Hostess set

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #33

I've combined Keesh's sketch challenge this week with a colour challenge from UStamp. This is the sketch we had to work with:

and this is what I came up with:

I've changed the sketch a teensy bit and used a circle instead of an oval on my card. The stamp set is  the 'Bloom Away" set. It's the first time I have used this set as it has only just arrived into my hot little hands!! It features three different Australian wildflower blooms.

Mojo Monday Week 130

It has been a  while since I have participated in a Mojo Monday Challenge - as a matter of fact, it has been a while since I have done any stamping or crafting of any description! **sigh** Honestly, I just don't know where the time goes! Anyway, yesterday I decided to take  a little time out and do some stamping.

I decided to make an easter card seeing as it is almost easter! The Candy lane papers suit the theme perfectly. Not sure if you can see it in the photo, but I inked up the bunny first with versamark ink & then in Close To Cocoa so that it could be embossed with clear embossing powder. What do you think??
