Beautiful Friendship

Having a play with the 'Beautiful Friendship' stampset from the Annual Catalogue. I just love this stamp. This kind of stamp is what is known as 'DistINKtive' in that you get different  impressions of ink on different parts of the stamp. It makes it look like you have spent ages watercolouring! Here is my card:

All of the stamps used on this card are from the same set. I've chosen to use Smoky Slate to stamp my flowers. I've stamped once and then stamped the image again without re-inking. I did that with all of the images on the card. I love how it turned out. The strip of cardstock across the front of the card has been made using the Corrugated 3D embossing folder.

Country Home Faux Patina

Having a bit of a play with the Faux Patina technique and this is what I came up with:

I've used the Tin Tile Embossing Folder to help crate the background. I think it lends itself very well for this technique. And the 'Country Home' stampset was a perfect match for the  card as well.

To make the background, I inked up the debossed side (the side without the printing) with crumb cake ink. You can use the other side if you prefer - which a lot of people do, but I preferred the debossed side. I then lay a piece of Thick Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 14.6cm x 10.3cm onto the un-inked side, closed the embossing folder and ran it through my bigshot to transfer the ink to the cardstock. After that I used sponge daubers to randomly apply ink over the card. The colours I used were Bermuda Bay and Old Olive and Early Espresso. You can just keep layering up the colours until you are happy with how it looks. After that, I sponged on some Celestial Copper pigment ink randomly over the piece (this ink will be available in the new Occasions catalogue coming out in September.

I've created a Youtube tutorial on how I made the background. It's my very first video and I was extremely nervous! Both my hands and my voice were shaking so please be kind!!!

So Shelli May Paper Pumpkin Kit

We were so lucky to have the Paper Pumpkin kit for May available to us as a once off (it is not normally available in Australia). I'm still playing with it and though it is no longer available, I thought I would share some of the cards I have made with it. I didn't stick to the instructions in the kit - instead I made full sized cards, incorporated other stamps and dies from my stash and added more layers.

 

Here is the first one:

I've cut up one of the notecard bases from the kit and layered it onto crumb cake cardstock, then on to an A5 Pretty Peacock card base. (The other half of the notecard can be used for another card, or for the inside of your card). The label ribbon, and twine is from the kit. the bird image is from the 'Free As A Bird' stampset which I have coloured then fussy cut. The sentiment is from the 'Well Said' stampset.

And this one:

I've cut up the same card front for this and layered it onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and again, the card base is Pretty Peacock. The feathers, twine and label are from the kit, so are the stamped birds. The sentiment again is from 'Well Said'. The die cut is made using the coordinating "Well Written' die.

And finally this one:

Again I've cut up another of the card bases from the kit and layered onto Old Olive card stock, then onto a Crumb Cake card base. The twine, die-cut flowers and labels are from the kit. I've punched out circles from Petal Pink card stock using the starburst punch to layer behind the label. The leaves were die-cut from Old Olive card stock using the 'Well Written' dies. And once again I've used the 'Well Said' stampset and 'Well Written' dies to create the sentiment.

Lovely As A Tree Is Retiring!

It will be very sad to see this stamp set go! After all these years, Lovely As A Tree is on the retiring list. This is one stamp set that we all thought would be around forever! I know I will never be parting with mine - it is such a versatile set. If you don't already own this set and would like it - you'd better get in quick because this is one set that won't last very long.

I've used the Subtle Embossing folder to create the back layer on this card, first inking the inside of the folder with Crumb Cake ink before placing my cardstock inside.The background on the top layer as made by sponging the edge of a cloud shaped piece of paper with Smoky Slate ink (I die-cut the cloud shape using one of the edge dies from the Rainbow Builder Framelits). The row of trees were stamped twice, first with Soft Suede, then again with Memento Black slightly offsetting it. Lastly I've stamped the single tree with Memento Black ink.

The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Birthdays and was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with White embossing powder.

Butterfly Beauty

It's another stinker of a day here today so I'm staying in the cool playing with stamps and dies.

I just LOVE butterflies, so when I saw these dies and stamps in the Occasions Catalog I just had to have them! Plus I got the freebies from Sale-A-Bration too!

I LOVE how you can layer the butterflies together! This first card uses paper from the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. The background has been watercoloured onto Shimmer paper with Daffodil Delight and Pool party re-inkers and an Aqua Pen. I've then stamped the larger circle stamp from "Beauty Abounds" randomly on top with Pool party ink.

The background on this card has been created the same way as the first - this time using Daffodil Delight and Grapefruit Grove re-inkers. The patterned paper I've used on this one is a freebie you can earn during Sale-A-Bration called Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. They are just stunning!

In both cards I have cut off one of the butterflies to use on the inside of my card.

Sweetest Thing

Finally got to sit down and play with some new product!

 

This card uses the "How Sweet It Is" suite of products from the new Occasions Catalogue. The suite includes Designer Series Paper, double-sided ribbon, coordinating card stock, sweet pins and tags, a stampset and coordinating Framelits die. There are also some really gorgeous little Sweet Cups That you can decorate!

The Stampset is called "Sweetest Thing" and can be purchased on its own - or if you purchase as a bundle with the coordinating die you save 10%.

Beautiful Promenade

I made this card for World Cardmaking Day. It uses the fabulous Beautiful Promenade Suite:

I've CASE'd the layout from a notebook that Sara demonstrated at Stampin'Up! Onstage in April 2018. I made mine into a card instead though.

The card base is Powder Pink with a layer of Fresh Fig on top. I've cut a panel from one of the sheets in the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper and sponged it with Powder Pink and Fresh Fig ink, then layered this on top of the Fresh Fig.

To make the flower, I've stamped the image twice onto Very Vanilla cardstock using the outline flower image from the Beautiful Promenade stampset using Versamark and heat embossed using black embossing powder. I've then stamped the strip flower image image on top with Powder Pink ink. I've then sponged using Powder Pink. Grapefruit Grove and Fresh Fig ink. The images have then been fussy cut instead of using the matching die. To top flower has had the bottom petal cut off, then this has been layered onto the second flower using dimensionals. I've then coloured the top with Wink Of Stella to give a bit of sparkle.

I've die cut some leaves from the Beautiful Layers Thinlits die and layered the lot on top of a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that has been punched out with the Starburst punch. And just for a bit of bling, I've put some Rose Metallic Thread behind the flower and added Petal pink Rhinestone Gems.The sentiment is also from the Beautiful Promenade stampset

Share What You Love

I so, so forgot to post these cards that I made using the Share What You Love suite!!! Better late than never!

I just love the papers on this card. All the products on this card are from the 'Share What You Love' suite of products. The papers in this pack are thick - more like cardstock and they have a gorgeous shimmer to them. And they are all double - sided. You can just get a peak on the inside of what is on the other side. Love it!

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder to make it  pop.

More papers from the same suite. Different sentiment on this one and I've also used a die-cut from the accessory pack.

And finally this one:

I just love that embossing folder! It is extra thick and gives a great impression. To make this one, I have inked up the inside of my embossing folder before  putting in the cardstock and running through my Bigshot. Love the effect

Animal Outing Sneak Peak

A little Sneak Peak at one of the new stamp sets coming out in the Annual Catalogue in June.

This is just one of the images in the set called "Animal Outing". Isn't it just so cute! I love the Koala in  the kangaroo's pouch. The leaves behind the image are stamped from the "Painted Harvest" set and punched out with the coordinating die, both of which are still available in the current Occasions Catalogue (Item numbers 144783 and 144667).

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

I made this card for my mum for her birthday. The colours used are the new In Colours for this year - Berry Burst and Powder Pink. This card is another CASE'd card that I have added my own little touches to.

I love it - it's so bright and cheery! The background has been created using the reinkers and an aqua brush and the splatters have been created using a paint brush dipped in the reinkers then flicked over the page. I love the glitter dots!
