Welcome and thank you for joining us on the Scrapbooking Global February 2020 Blog Hop. I hope you have been enjoying the hop so far. If you didn't come from the link on my facebook page, you would have come from Marga Bultena. There have been some fabulous layouts on this hop. You can see a complete list of all participants at the bottom of this post - please feel free to leave a comment on the pages!
I haven't participated in a blog hop for quite some time but when I saw the sketch we had to base our layout on I had to give it a try. Here is the sketch we used:
I really loved this sketch and I already had photo in mind when I saw it.I had a photo of my daughter sitting on my fridge from when she went on her first ever camp last year - just waiting to be scrapped. Here is my take on the sketch:
I took inspiration for the colours on my page from the clothes that Daisy was wearing in the photo. To create the background on my page I first coated it in 2 layers of white gesso and allowed it to dry. Then I used the brick stencil from Pattern Party Decorative Masks and randomly layered on white embossing paste. Once this was dry, I saturated the page with water and layered on Daffodil Delight and Old Olive ink. If you look closely, you can just see the text stamp from Parisian Beauty stamped on top of the ink.
I've used the leaf die from "In The Woods" die set to die-cut the leaves and the sprig is from the "Flourish" die set. My flowers have been made using the two daisy punches (daisies for my Daisy!). Each of the large flowers has four layers of the large daisy and two of the smaller daisy. The smaller daisy uses four layers of the small daisy The small flowers at the top were made using the flower punch that you can earn free during sale-a-bration. The Clear Faceted Gems made perfect centres for the daisies - I simply coloured them with the Dark Old Olive blend.
I do have a couple of discontinued items on my page. The arrow was made using an old retired punch and the bow clip is also a retired item.
I am really happy with how this layout turned out and I hope you like it too! I've included a list of all the products I used below.
Next on the list Jenn Charles. I can't wait to see what she has created!
Have a great crafty day and thanks for stopping by!
